Former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba has congratulated Oyo state governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, after his outstanding victory at the Ondo State Governorship polls held on October 10, 2020.

Ndoma-Egba in his congratulatory message to the governor wrote that his “…victory is a loud and clear proclaimation by the great people of Ondo State of their confidence in your leadership and strides.” He added that this “.. victory therefore is a challenge …to do even more in your second term which should define your legacy” and further prayed that Akeredolu will “…succeed even more resoundingly to the greater glory of Ondo State and its people.”

To the family of elder statesman Edwin Pepper Clark and the entire illustrious Clark dynasty, the former Senate Leader condoled them on the demise of their scion, Professor of Literature, John Pepper Clark, who passed away on Tuesday 13th October, 2020 at the age of 87.

He maintained in his condolence message that “the family should be consoled by his life time achievements. He was an outstanding scholar, writer, poet and social activist who represented our finest values. He will certainly be immortalized by his remarkable scholarships, works and legacies. His life was rich and full. May his soul rest in peace.”

Born April 6, 1935, John Pepper Clark-Bekederemo was a Nigerian poet and playwright, who also published as J. P. Clark and John Pepper Clark. His books include: America, Their America, Song of a goat, Ozidi: A Play, A reed in the tide, as well as series of poems, notable among them is “The Casualties”, written about the Nigerian civil war. He was educated at Princeton University, University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos.
