CROWEI/Asuquo Ekpenyong Foundation Distribute N50million Grant To 1,000 CR Women

Linda Ayade, helped by Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr, hand a cheque to a beneficiary.

The Cross River State Women Emancipation Initiative, CROWEI, and the Asuquo Ekpenyong Foundation, AEF, brought joy to no fewer than 1000 women when it distributed micro grants to them, to the tune of N50 million.

Empowered with a view to help the women start up small businesses, the event which gathered women from across the state in Ikom, also had in attendance the wife of the CRS governor, Linda Ayade, who gladdened the minds of  beneficiaries present at the event.

The CRS First Lady, commended the AEF for critically partnering with CROWEI to empower women across the 196 wards of the state. She was particular that the Foundation has carved a niche for itself by immensely contributing to the growth of micro/macro enterprises in the state. She charged them not to stop, but to do more for the good of the state and to the glory of God.

Recall that during the lockdown, the Asuquo Ekpenyong Foundation also supported the CRSG with a N25 million cash donation and medical supplies to help cushion the effects of the lockdown. AEF continues to show considerable commitment to growing micro businesses, mostly in rural areas, working to curb dominant poverty at that level.

Several beneficiaries at the event, happily thanked CROWEI and AEF for this gesture and prayed that they will be enabled to do more for women across the state.
