The University of Calabar, has announced the promotion of 15 Academics to the professorial cadre.

Florence Obi, Vice Chancellor of the university, who disclosed this at a Special Session of Senate, said six were Professors and nine Associate Professors.

The new Professors are Bassey Eyo Bassey (Accounting), Mary Mgbekem Achi (Nursing Science), Regina Ella (Nursing Science), Anthonia Ikpeme (Radiology), Affiong Joseph (Animal Science) and Christiana Ihejiamaizu (Science Education).

The new Associate Professors include, Christopher Naseri (Religious & Cultural Studies), Azubuike Ekwere (Geology), Richard Ukpanukpong (Biochemistry), Lawson Ekpe (Chemical Pathology), and Anne Meremikwu (Science Education).

Others include Essien Essien (Social Science Education), Cecilia Beshel (Adult Education), Cecilia Essien (Adult Education) and Okon Ani (Library & Information Science Education).
