On the heels of the Federal High Court, Calabar, which exonerated him and four others of charges bothering on murder and terrorism, Peter Akpanke, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Obudu, Bekwarra and Obanliku Federal Constituency in next year’s general election, says, he gives “God His deserved glory for the outcome of the terrorism case against me, which was struck out by a Federal High Court.”

In a statement issued by Akpanke and made available to www.calitown.com, he also came clear that, “God, from whom no secret can be concealed, shall always vindicate the innocent.”

To his supporters, this is what he said: “I wholeheartedly appeal to my highly esteemed supporters to join me in giving glory to God for His sustained protection in my entire life. They shun all distractions and remain focused and committed to the desirable attainment of our goal.”

Akpanke further advised “those who have no scorecard to showcase and so secure continued public patronage, to desist from cutting corners and attempt to void the people’s popular will and the divine will of God. By the grace of God, OBO Federal Constituency shall be blessed with effective representation to be great and harmonious again.”

He was full of appreciation to his “fellow party men, who were my co aspirants for the OBO House of Reps ticket, and who have since accepted the outcome of the party primaries with a highly commendable family spirit and sportsmanship”, just like he thanked the PDP for standing by him and providing direction and support that will see him and the party provide valuable representation that will be a blessing to all manner of people in the federal constituency and beyond.
