Two persons were trapped, Saturday, April 29th, 2023, after a two-storey building under construction collapsed in Calabar Municipality, Cross River State.

Located at Nta-Eke Street, off Ikot-Eyo in Calabar, eyewitnesses say building collapsed while the two trapped abourers were on site working. One of the builders on site who who survived the incident and pleaded anonymity, blamed the owner of the property for the unfortunate incident. ” Before now, I had cautioned him about the quality of materials being used for the building, but he did not bulge; see what has happened now”, he told www.calitown.com

First responders to the scene of the incident and security operatives were tirelessly seen clearing rubble in an attempt to rescue those trapped, at press time.
