Club Commends Akwa Ibom State Gov For Kindness To Young Yakurr Lady

Posted on April 15, 2024April 15, 2024 By Admin No Comments on Club Commends Akwa Ibom State Gov For Kindness To Young Yakurr Lady
Eno, AKS Governor.

Members of the Exquisite Royal Pearls Club of Ugep, Yakurr LGA, Cross River State, have written a letter to Umo Eno, Akwa Ibom State governor, to express their appreciation and commendation for the governor’s recent act of kindness towards one of their daughters, a young Ugep lady, Arit Ubi Abam.

In the letter signed by Jesam Obeten and Gloria Inah, President General as well as Secretary General respectively, the club said the governor’s “swift and compassionate response to the touching video of the young female graduate, exemplifies true leadership and generosity.”

They added that, Eno’s “pledge to complete a house for Miss Abam’s father, who sacrificed so much to ensure her education, is a testament to your commitment to improving the lives of the people, regardless of their State of origin.”

“We are deeply moved by your recognition of the importance of good behaviour (in an era of moral decadence) and education, especially that of the girl-child and the sacrifices made by parents to ensure the success of their children. Your gesture not only provides much-needed support to Miss Abam’s family but also serves as a source of inspiration and hope for many others in similar circumstances”, the all female club further emphasized.

They also came clear that the governor’s “actions resonate deeply with the core values of the Exquisite Royal Pearls Club of Ugep, an indigenous all-female association birthed in 2001, which is dedicated to the visibility and promotion of the girl child. Through our various initiatives, including educational scholarships, business establishment, and apprenticeship programs, we strive to empower and uplift indigent Ugep girls, enabling them to achieve their full potential.”

“We commend your exemplary leadership and generosity, and pray that many more like-minded governments, organizations, and individuals will join us in reaching out and doing more for the vulnerable segments of our society.”

Moved by a viral video of Arit, returning from service, marching towards her old father and handing him her NYSC uniform, as appreciation for her father’s sacrifice that saw her through school, Eno has since commenced construction work for the building of a befitting house for the family. The Cross River State Government has since offered her automatic employment into the state’s civil service.
