Foundation Urge Youths To Work Hard, Look Beyond White Collar Jobs

The Aspire Educational Foundation, with a mission to sharpen and develop young people, has used the occasion of her annual enhance programme for youths, to urge young people in Nigeria to work hard and look beyond white collar jobs.

Kasi Usani, founder and chairman, Aspire Educational Foundation, speaking at the organization’s annual enhance event, held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 in Calabar, Cross River State, maintained that, it is deliberate that the foundation is inspiring young people to acquire skills, embrace competence and capacity building opportunities, as well as knowledge and skills that are not typical in a traditional school setting, because this path better adds value and contributes to the growth and development of the society, while in turn bringing financial gains to youths.

Usani further called on young people to resist the temptation to confine themselves to white collar jobs, while urging them to be involved in entrepreneurial activities that would bring them exposure and prosperity.

Executive Secretary, Calabar Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, CALCIMA, guest speaker at the event, Kenneth Asim Ittah, speaking on “Activating an Entrepreneurial Mindset”, enjoined the participants to take calculated risks, aim at solving a need in society and develop a positive mental attitude, stressing that an entrepreneurial mindset determines the success or failure of a business. He also noted that marketing is crucial for any business to achieve it’s aim and reach end consumers.

At the event, carefully selected participants/beneficiaries from the foundation were involved in team based problem solving and business pitching exercises which followed comments, constructive criticisms and recommendations from the panelists. The participants expressed their gratitude towards the impactful activities and financial support they were enriched with by the foundation.
