Former LG Chair Wants N33million From Yala LGA

Former chairman of Yala Local Government Council,  Gab Ugor is through his lawyers, asking the local council he just left as helmsman to pay him a whooping N33 million for undisclosed claims.

Ugor who has been guest of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for perceived sundry financial irregularities, shortly after leaving office, is insisting as one source told calitown.com that “the money is his personal money that he committed to official use with the hope that refunds will be made to him”. But another source was quick to counter that “this is a flimsy excuse that the man may have thought up to get at council’s funds. I am sure he may have lost some money going to the EFCC, it may then be his desire to get some cash in”.

As at press time, it was unclear when legal proceedings in the matter will commence, but our source promised “to keep us posted so that people can be informed”.
