“Ndoma-Egba’s Supporters Left The PDP Last Year” – Goddy Ettah

As supporters of the Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, in their numbers last Thursday afternoon defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in a ceremony in Calabar, the state secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Goddy Ettah has informed www.calitown.com that “Ndoma-Egba’s supporters left the PDP since October last year when it became clear that they could not force their personal wishes on the collective party wish. What they have just done now is of no significance to the party because it is plain for all to see that these people do not have the electoral value which can unsettle the PDP in Cross River State”

Ettah went on to say that, “we just finished elections and the PDP overwhelmingly won, it is just unfortunate that those who are making all the noise now seem to forget so soon. I mean, before they became flagbearers of our party, were there no party men and women occupying those positions? So, because the party has now decided that someone else should have a go at the position, it becomes injustice? How come it was not injustice when the party decided that they should take over from somebody. Did Ndoma-Egba not take over from somebody? We have to be very clear on these issues so that we can tell the truth and stop all these false presentations”.

The scribe was clear that, the PDP is focused so that it can deliver on the mandate the good people of CR have given her, maintaining that those who are defecting would have distracted the party if they were still within her ranks.

Last Thursday’s defectors, led by the Director General of the Victor Ndoma-Egba Campaign Organisation, Ernest Irek, some former local council chairmen and former members of the state House of Assembly, among others, may have followed in the footsteps of Soni Abang, a former chairman of the PDP in CRS, who recently defected to the APC.
