Mr & Miss Leboku Winners To Get Nissan Admiral Each

It has been revealed to www.calitown.com, that the star prize for winners of the Mr & Miss Leboku beauty peagent at this year Leboku International Festival in Ugep, Yakurr LGA, Cross River State, will be a brand new Nissan Admiral salon, courtesy of the Cross River State Government. The peagent which is open to sons and daughters of Yakurr extraction, will hold on August 23, 2013.

This year’s edition will for the first time in her long history, have a segment for little boys and girls, aptly tagged “Little Mr & Miss Leboku”. Debra Rich, CEO, Debis Entertainment, organisers of the peagent on behalf of the Cross River State Tourism Bureau, disclosed exclusively to calitown.com that additionally the Mr & Miss Leboku contest will hold on the same day, a shift from the two days normally set aside for the peagant.

For the children’s category, the star prize, the CEO hinted, is a 42-inch flat screen TV, while mouth watering consolation prizes have been set aside for the first, second and third runners-up. He promised that the competition which has been taken several notches up, this year, will deliver top class entertainment blended with a touch of traditional class, something the people of Yakurr are known for.

The Leboku International Festival, a celebration of the new yam harvested within the month of August, is second only to the world famous Calabar Christmas Festival in scope and has achieved national and international acclaim in recent times because of its ability to draw from far and wide, Yakurr sons and daughters in a communal celebration that has been handed down from generation to generation.
