A private citizen from Cross River North, Peter Agi, says the groundswell of support building in Cross River North for Higgins Oko Peters, a private citizen with a vision for the region’s development and a track record of principled leadership, will continue to build because Peters’ unwavering commitment to serving the people and his ability to drive positive change in the region.
Agi, in an open letter, a copy of which was sent to www.calitown.com, wrote that as a “valuable asset with significant influence in state leadership, despite being outside government, the Yala born Chief’s influence is rooted in his integrity, his willingness to speak truth to power, and his dedication to improving the lives of Cross River North’s citizens.”
“Cross River North is at crossroads,” Agi writes. “We need leaders who will prioritize our needs, serve with honesty and transparency, and put the people above politics. Higgins Oko Peters is that leader.”
The letter highlights Peters’ achievements, including his advocacy for key issues affecting the region and his efforts to bring people together to find solutions to pressing challenges. It also commends his commitment to accountability, progress, and collective efforts to achieve sustainable growth and development in the district.
He further r drums up citizens support for Peters, praising his vision for Cross River North and his leadership style, especially “at such a critical period in the political history of the North and how outspoken the man has elected to remain, in helping to guide the political choices that our people make and embrace.”
“In a time of seeming political uncertainty, he’s not afraid to speak truth to power and stand up for what he believes in. We need to work with him to make our voices heard and create a brighter future for Cross River North. Peters’ vision for Cross River North is centered on growth, development, and serving with integrity. He has been a vocal advocate for improved infrastructure, better education, and enhanced economic opportunities for the region’s youth”, Agi maintained.
Again, the letter draws attention to a recent issue, where “he the interest of Cross River North first, prioritizing the district’s needs over personal relationships. His actions demonstrate a commitment to protecting the district and its people, rather than a betrayal of friendship. He had privately advised his friend to avoid being manipulated by divisive forces, showing his concern for both the district and his friend’s well-being”, something that supporters of a former governor of the state are not comfortable with and have lashed out at him, even though he appears unfazed.
As a key political influencer in the North of Cross River State, his recent statement that he is ” ready to work with all stakeholders to build a better Cross River North. Be it in advocating for key issues, supporting community initiatives, or bringing people together to find solutions, I’m committed to serving the people”
“Chief is the kind of leader Cross River North needs – someone who puts the people first and is not afraid to stand up for what’s right. With his commitment to serving the people and driving positive change, the future looks bright for Cross River North”, Agi ends his letter.
