Another Cross Riverian Grabs Wrong Headlines

Posted on June 20, 2014 By Admin No Comments on Another Cross Riverian Grabs Wrong Headlines

Copy of NEW LOGO OF CRSJust weeks after the Nigerian Army paraded one Angela Omieh, a Cross Riverian, for impersonation, another Nigerian of Cross River origin has been arrested by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, and handed over to the State Security Service, SSS, this past Monday,16 June, 2014, for importimg into the country, a large cache of military hardware.

Sources within the SSS confirmed to www.calitown.com, the arrest of one Emmanuel Eko, suspected to have illegally brought into Nigeria, 500 military camouflage uniforms, 60 pairs of bullet proof jackets, helmets, berets, boots, rain coats, armoured jackets, communication radio jackets, face masks, ear protectors and others, concealed in items shipped in a white bus from Britain. Eko who claims to be in the British Army, but was arrested with a Nigerian passport is refusing to volunteer any information, sources revealed.

Beyond what has been intercepted, there is palpable fear on the ground here within some quarters in Cross River state that Eko may be part of a group of individuals from one warring community in CR Central, thought to be assisting their community with sophisticated weapons that may have been used to execute the communal clash that recently engulfed two communities in that part of the state. However, another group of persons have dismissed this assumption, insisting that what Eko was arrested with is more sophisticated than what was used to execute the communal clash.
