The new church in Akparabong

His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Catholic diocese, is about now presiding over religious activities leading up to the consecration of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church Akparabong, Ikom, Cross River State, built and donated to the Akparabong community by former Senate Leader and present Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC chairman, Victor Ndoma-Egba.

Ndoma-Egba posted on Facebook that, “Growing up I made a promise to God to build Him a church if He made me a man. He made me a man ages ago but He has thankfully been patient with me to this day.

Mercifully, I am now able, with the help of my supportive wife, to now keep my side of the bargain. Not only is the church we have been building since 2003 now ready, Akparabong my hometown where the church is located is now a full fledged Parish.

My wife and I are therefore pleased to have the honour of your presence and at the dedication of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church Akparabong, Ikom, Cross River State, by His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan.

As you join us this greatest day of our lives God’s abundant mercy and grace shall certainly abide”.
