Family sources in Ogoja, North of Cross River State have confirmed to www.calitown.com, the passing on of 2nd Republic deputy governor of old Cross River State, Mathias Offoboche in a London hospital.

An accomplished gynecologist who read medicine at the University of Dublin in the early 60s, he was deputy governor of Cross River State from 1979-1983, running on the same ticket as the late Clement Isong. Burial announcement by his immediate family will follow shortly.
