Hillary Bisong, the member representing Boki II State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, over the weekend splashed N8m (eight million naira) on his constituents as a demonstration of his commitment to improving the economic and social conditions of his people.

While opening his Constituency Office in Okundi, Boki LGA, Bisong told www.calitown.com that “what I am doing here is to bring democratic dividends to my people. I have put an Executive Secretary to be in charge of this constituency office and he will be paid on a monthly basis, it is the little I can do. We will have a functional office, equipped with IT materials so that our young people particularly, will not have to embark on journeys again to Ogoja and Ikom to carry out online activities like buying/filling of JAMB forms, checking results etc…”

He also said the seven women who got a bike each have consistently shown commitment to the PDP’s cause in the area and admonished them to put the bikes to good use, just like he promised a widow more financial assistance added to the cash assistance of N50, 000 (fifty thousand naira) that he gave her.

Bisong who maintains that “power comes from the people”, explained that what he will do is maintain this empowerment initiative with the help of God, “so that I can make a difference in the lives of my people. Indeed, working with my people, we have developed a workplan for this constituency and in the days ahead I can promise that we will do things in this constituency to the glory of God”.
There were jubilant scenes at the occasion.
