CR Task Force Seals Off Illegal Clinic, ‘Doctor’ Arrested

Posted on June 7, 2024 By Admin No Comments on CR Task Force Seals Off Illegal Clinic, ‘Doctor’ Arrested

The Cross River State Task Force On Health Quality & Anti Quackery, has sealed off the premises of Ben Damare Clinic & Maternity, Ekori, Yakurr LGA, after it was confirmed that the clinic was not on the list of registered clinics in the state.

Independent checks by www.calitown.com revealed that the sealing off of the clinic was carried out by the CRS Chairman of the Task Force, Dan Abubakar, a medical doctor, and his team after several reports of the deaths of women and children while the facility attempted Caesarian sections, CS.

In one particular case, a young girl of Ekori extraction, is believed to have had an unsuccessful CS in the clinic last week, resulting in her death and her baby’s. Another lady and her set of twins were also reported to have died in the clinic while the ‘doctor’, one Olisa Obi, attempted another CS. This tragic incidents are said to have sparked a chain of reactions that resulted in the sealing off of the clinic and subsequent arrest of Obi, who claims to have graduated from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with further claims that he works for a non-governmental organization, NGO, in Ebonyi State that was not immediately named.

Obi and his clinic manager have been arrested and detained by the police in Ekori, while the CRS Ministry of Health works at having Obi and his co-travellers prosecuted.
