John Odey’s Death Shocks Donald Duke

Late John Odey

Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Donald Duke, has expressed shock at the death of former Minister of Information and later, Environment, John Odey, who passed on over the weekend in a Dubai hospital.

Duke said Odey’s death is a huge loss to the country because he is in his prime and he would have been quite useful to the country at this auspicious time that the nation is begging for leaders that will take the country out of the woods.

He added that Odey, served in his cabinet when he was Governor of Cross River State and his sterling performance in the state made him recommend him as National Publicity Secretary of PDP at that time, an office he meritoriously in and later appointed as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He prayed that God will be with the family he left behind and the people of Cross River State, aa well as the nation at this sad loss.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Cross River State, Ikpi Eni, has described the emergence of Donald Duke as the SDP presidential candidate as the best thing to happen in Nigeria in the current political dispensation.

Eni said Donald Duke is the most equipped Nigerian to preside over the affairs of Nigeria at this time. Nigerians he maintained should heave a sigh of relief as a Donald Duke presidency will restore Nigeria’s lost glory

“Duke is a tested political leader who is visionary and has capacity to deliver on his promises” Eni pointed out. The Chairman also described the convention that produced Duke as the party candidate as one of the best organised conventions he has attended, praising the Committee that organised it for a job well done.
