The body of Justice Okoi Ikpi Itam, until his death the Chief Judge of Cross River State, will begin its journey home today, Friday, June 16, 2017 after a valedictory court session to be held in his honour at the Judiciary headquarters on Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar, from 10 am, www.calitown.com can reveal.

Family sources have also informed that the body will immediately leave for his home town, Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area, where it will be received by the Ugep monarch, Obol Ofem Ubana Eteng, Yakurr chiefs, distinguished sons and daughters of the area and sympathisers. He will lie in state in his country home, Enonti – Ntankpo, Ugep, for an all night vigil to be conducted by the Presbytarian Church.

On Saturday, June 17, 2017, an inter-denominational church service will be held at the Ugep Peace Stadium, to be attended by state governor, Ben Ayade and his deputy, Ivara Esu, members of the bar and bench, and a broad spectrum of guests that will be present to pay their last respect to the deceased. His remains will be interred at 1 pm, local time.
