The corpse of a middle aged man is lying in the mortuary of the General Hospital, Ugep, Yakurr LGA, Cross River State, after he died during a sex romp with a married woman in a hotel in Ekori community, Yakurr LGA.
We were informed that the married woman had arrived Ekori from nearby Assiga community for a marriage ceremony in the company of her husband. As the wedding progressed, she offered her husband a flimsy reason, left him and darted straight to the ‘short time’ hotel for a prearranged meet with the deceased. It was further gathered that the deceased who had earlier bragged to a close friend that he was going to give his married female companion a time to remember, is suspected to have quickly grabbed and consumed a yet to be identified local aphrodisiac, before she arrived.
After a few drinks and niceties, the duo proceeded to one of the rooms for a romp that suddenly turned ugly when the lady discovered midway into their session that the man had suddenly become lifeless and unresponsive. Sensing he may have died, she quickly gathered herself and took off. A bizarre twist to the whole issue came up when the proprietor of the hotel, on discovering the corpse, carefully evacuated it and dumped it not too far from the hotel. He then proceeded to inform the police that an “unidentified man appears to have slumped to death close to the hotel”.
Police investigations and information available to the police, proved otherwise and the proprietor was arrested and quizzed before he owned up to being the one who dumped the corpse outside the hotel. The police have also established the identity of the married woman and accordingly taken her into custody as investigations continue.
So sad, agony of a sinful transition!
