Alex Egbona the member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, has revealed that he has the nod of his people to contest elections again, seeking to return to the House of Representatives for a third term.
Egbona made this declaration shortly after honouring “the invitation of my Abi LGA people who are resident in Calabar, (Cross River State) to brief them on my achievements as member of the House of Representatives.”
At the informal gathering, he briefed his people of his “achievements in the areas of health, education, social services, empowerment, water supply, electricity, employment, bills sponsored and motions moved since they sent me to the National Assembly. It was another opportunity to render account of my activities as their representative. Sometime ago, I had initiated a townhall meeting where I briefed the entire constituency”, Egbona wrote.
“President of the Ekureku Family Association, Godwin Akpaja delivered a remarkable speech, commending me for the achievements and declaring that the entire Ekureku nation will stand firmly behind me as they urged me to be ready to contest for a third term. Vice president of the association moved a motion adopting me for a third term and it was unanimously accepted by all Ekureku sons and daughters present. Prayers were offered for me and the third term project”, he concluded.
