The Peoples Democratic Party in CRS has inaugurated its campaign committee for the Yakurr/Abi LGAs as she intensifies preparations for next month’s polls. The inauguration which took place in Ugep, Yakurr LGA, and drew a large crowd of party faithfuls drawn from both LGAs, seeks to drum up support for the candidature of President Goodluck Jonathan and several other candidates of the party, especially those contesting from the two LGAs.

Bassey Eko Ewa, who represents Yakurr/Abi Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, urged supporters present, to be steadfast and ensure thay the party emerges victorious in the coming elections. He thanked the supporters for having faith in the party, adding that more will be done if the party is voted in.

At the occasion too, former chairman of Abi LGA, Francis Ettah in a statement, reiterated the party’s commitment towards ensuring victory at the national, state and local government levels, adding that a vote cast against PDP is a vote against President Jonathan, Ben Ayade, John Owan Enoh, Bassey Eko Ewa and all respective candidates contesting under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Adding voice to what had been said at the occasion, Eko Atu, Director General of the CR Rural Development Agency and campaign co-ordinator for Abi LG, maintained that there is no genuine and credible opposition that can muscle the PDP in the forthcoming elections, insisting that PDP has delivered on the peoples mandate. He tasked supporters not to remain indoors on the day of voting, but to come out en masse and exercise their franchise through voting for the party; “as voting is the beginning of victory for the party, come February, 2015”.
