PR Body Set For Master Class 5, MCPD Training

All is set for the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to host a one week special Window of Opportunity Master Class 5 and a one day Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) Programmes in Calabar from September 14 to 18, 2015.

The Training Programme which is expected to hold at the Training Hall of the Calabar Free Trade Zone Administrative Headquarters, Calabar, is meant for non-members and Registered Public Relations Practitioners in the South-South and South-East States in Nigeria.

A statement from the National Headquarters of the Institute signed by the President and Chairman of Council, Rotimi Oladele, FNIPR and the Deputy Registrar, Yemi Adediran indicates that those to attend the special Window of Opportunity Master Class 5 are those who have been in Public Relations practice but not certified by the Institute, while the one-day Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Training is strictly for certified professionals desiring upgrading in the institute is scheduled for September 18, 2015 at the same venue.

The special Window of Opportunity Master Class 5 is designed by NIPR Governing Council to enable those attending the training the opportunity to get registered and remain in Public Relations Practice after the deadline for the on-going re-certification exercise on September 30, 2015.

The release therefore enjoins State Governments, LGAs, Corporate Organizations, and Private individuals in Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi, Anambra, and Abia States to sponsor their staff members in Public Relations practice for the training, which is the last in the series of Window of Opportunity before the new Practicing License Certification becomes operational on October 1, 2015.

Meanwhile the Cross River State Chapter of NIPR has reminded her members that registration for the on-going re-certification exercise is in progress and shall close on Friday, 25th September, 2015 by noon.

According to the State Chairman, Obo Mesembe Edet, MNIPR, all forms so collated shall be couriered to the NIPR Headquarters in Abuja by 2pm same day and charged members not to wait for last minute rush.

Similarly, Edet has urged those for the special Window of Opportunity Master Class 5 and the MCPD in the State to conclude registration formalities on or before Friday, September 11, 2015 as cash would not be accepted at the venue of the Training Programme.
She urged interested members of the Public to seek further clarifications on the training programmes and re-certification exercise from the State Financial Secretary, Benedict Okache, MNIPR in the Ministry of Information Headquarters Opposite Cultural Centre Complex, Calabar or call 08035530226 for details.
