Ani Esin, State Security Adviser, CRS

It has been revealed to www.calitown.com that Ani Esin, Cross River State Security Adviser in charge of the Southern Senatorial District, was kidnapped early this morning in Calabar South by unknown gunmen.

Sources in Calabar South say the unfortunate incident took place at about 3am this morning, in circumstances that are unclear. One source said Esin was roughened up by his abductors before he was to be taken away.

However, Police Public Relations Officer, CRS, Irene Ugbo, informed us that it took the personal intervention of State Commissioner of Police, Austin Agbonlahor, who led a team of officers, to foil the abduction. “One of the suspects died while trying to escape in one of the vehicles removed from Ani’s house. We rescued the victim and he is presently in a stable condition in hospital”, Ugbo revealed.
