Wilmar Tractor Overturns, Critically Injures Eight

A tractor belonging to large scale plantation farmers, Wilmar Group, carrying more than 60 bags of fertilizer, overturned this morning, critically injuring eight workers of the Group, www.calitown.com can report.

The accident close to the Group’s expansive palm plantation at Ibiae, eyewitnesses say may have been caused by the tractor driver’s attempt to avoid a head on collision with an uncoming vehicle. The eight critically injured workers have been taken to the Akamkpa General Hospital where hospital sources insist the workers will need to be transfered to specialist medical care in Calabar for better chances of survival.
