Yibala Inyang, Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Area, Cross River State, has on the 73rd birthday anniversary of former Cross River State governor, Clement David Ebri, conveyed his warm felicitations and those of the good people of Yakurr LGA to the former governor, “a distinguished son of Yakurr, an accomplished statesman and a pillar of Nigeria’s political integrity.”
Inyang’s message further states that Ebri’s “journey from Mkpani, Yakurr LGA, to the pinnacle of national service remains a testament to discipline, clarity of purpose, and exemplary leadership. As former Governor of Cross River State, a member of the Constituent Assembly, and a key contributor to constitutional development and public policy, you have consistently demonstrated the rare capacity to lead with vision while serving with humility and honour.”
“Your Excellency, your contributions to governance, democratic stability, and institutional strengthening continue to shape public life within and beyond our state. You stand as an embodiment of wisdom, moderation, and statesmanship – qualities that remain invaluable to our collective progress.”
He went on to say that, “for us in Yakurr, your legacy is not confined to the pages of history. It is reflected daily in the values you have inspired: decency, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to the common good. You remain a model of leadership that uplifts and a mentor whose quiet influence has guided many into responsible and purposeful public service.”
“As you celebrate another year of a life marked by service and distinction, we pray that the Almighty grants you renewed strength, sound health, and continued fulfilment. May your life remain a guiding light to our people and to the nation you have served with dignity and excellence.”
Ebri, born on December 11, 1952, was governor of Cross River State between January 1992 and November 17, 1993 during the Nigerian Third Republic, leaving office after the military coup that brought General Sani Abacha to power.
