Cross River State’s premier urban/contemporary radio station, HIT 95.9 FM Calabar, today at the St. Patrick’s College, Ikot Ansa, Calabar, lent a helping hand as she distributed more than 300 palliative packs to women in Calabar as part of her community social responsibility in the face of a pandemic currently making life difficult for several households across the country.

Patrick Ugbe, MD/CEO of HIT FM, who spoke exclusively with www.calitown.com, shortly after the well attended event, explained that the radio station choose to target “…the less privileged in the community, some of whom have lost their jobs or are unable to eek out a living due to the lockdown. We are just providing these palliatives to the community, to ameliorate the effect of the Corona virus pandemic.”

Ekanem Esu, a beneficiary, maintained to us that “when l heard the announcement over the radio that this was going to happen, l thought they were joking, but coming here today and getting this palliative is something that gladdens my heart.”

Several other beneficiaries were also full of praise for this one in a kind gesture.
