Ayade’s Facebook Post Draws Flak…

Posted on July 29, 2020 By Admin 1 Comment on Ayade’s Facebook Post Draws Flak…
The Facebook post.

Less than 24 hours after Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, made a Facebook post promising the complete asphalting of the Bekwarra to Ikom section of his signature Super Highway project, reactions have trailed this promise with skepticism and optimism, displayed in comments from a broad spectrum of persons commenting on his post thread.

Serial social media commentator, Obudu-born Simon Utsu, responding to the post, went sarcastic, openly displaying disbelief in the governor’s promise and briskly asking, “What about Zaki biam to Vienna sub section?” Denis Odama, swimming in the same boat with Utsu came at the governor thus: “If Ayade is able to complete this Superhighway, I will make a statue of him and keep in my room and worship it for the rest of my life.”

Benedict Cool wrote in response: “When will Ayade ever be consistent. I have lost confidence in him”, just like Njang Ndoma who also wrote, “I wish this is true, and not one of those usual talks….”

Majuk Pathfinder Sunday did not hide veil emotions and immediately wrote to say: “Always talking. Your Excellency Sir, I refuse to believe you.”

There is a bang in Joseph Elang’s comment: “Capital lie, from Ikom to Bekwarra pass through my community Mbube that is covered with trees and grasses stop lying please” (sic).

A visibly angry Ken Ellah at this promise came down on the governor: “Meanwhile, the Calabar – Odukpani section has already started developing portholes while still under construction. We don’t really have a strong voice in Cross River State to challenge you Sir that is why you are taking us for a ride.”

BUT…

While a certain Nelly Oko, warned that: “There’s no time again o. Action not words”, she massaged the governor’s ego and told him, “…you’re a performer. Good luck my talk and do governor.” Joseph Ushie Emmanuel, amazed at the governor’s submission, wrote: “Wow… This is very good Sir, may God grant you more strength, keep up the good work Sir, we are proud of you.”

Emmanuel Nja Mbu, wrote: “Your Excellency, our expectations are very high on this project. We pray God to give you all ability to win on the noble project.” (sic)

Udam Ntishor, came through with this one; “Men of honor are not those who went to the best schools; but they are those who raised up bridges and break ground (sic) for the generation yet unborn, that’s who you truly are YE.”

However it remains to be seen if the governor’s race against time will birth this promised project.
