ALARM: CR-Born Wife Of Delta Prince Goes Missing In Delta Palace

Posted on January 18, 2021 By Admin No Comments on ALARM: CR-Born Wife Of Delta Prince Goes Missing In Delta Palace
Mary Okoi…and her husband after their traditional marriage.

Serious eyebrows are currently being raised over the mysterious disappearance of one Cross River born – Mary Collins Okpo (nee Mary Stephen Okoi) in circumstances that remain confounding.

Married to one Collins Okpo Ugbome of No. 45, Ujuju Street, Off Umusan Road, Kwale, Delta State, the mother of two daughters, Louisa and Chisom, Mary’s last known location was the palace of her husband’s grandfather, HRH, Igwe Ugbome II of Okpai Kingdom, Umuada Quarters in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State where the family reportedly went for Christmas on December 24, 2020.

Mary’s family in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, are seriously questioning the sudden and mysterious disappearance of their daughter and mother in the palace of her in-laws. The family maintains she has not been heard from since December 24, 2020. While www.calitown.com has been subtly informed that the lady in question has not in recent times enjoyed a cordial relationship with most members of the royal family, it is becoming increasingly certain that the royal family has not come forth with verifiable evidence about the whereabouts of the lady.

The royal family maintains that the lady left the palace to go get drugs for her sick child and didn’t return; closed circuit television, CCTV, recordings available in the palace has no evidence validating this submission. Further claims by the royal family that the lady has a medical challenge have been countered by her family.

Ibrahim Ngada of the law firm, I. H. Ngada & Co. of 24 Sir Kashim Ibrahim Road, Maiduguri, Borno representing the lady’s family, quickly responded in writing by stating that, “…though Mary had an accident wherein she fell off a motorcycle about twelve years ago and has been on treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, that has not affected her daily routine at any given time whatsoever and she has not for once left home without informing someone at the palace…”. The palace has not, at press time, responded to the family lawyer’s submission.

In the mean time, the family is calling for a detailed investigation by all relevant law enforcement agencies, national and international human rights organizations to intervene and ensure justice is done for their daughter.
