Obin, Osinbajo’s Aide Engages 100 Young Cross Riverians

100 young Cross Riverians are presently engaged by Philip Obin, Technical Assistant on New Media to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, in two registration centres in the state to help businesses based in Cross River State with the processing of registration on the Federal Government Payroll Support, after it was discovered that a lot of businesses in the state were finding it difficult to enroll or do not know how to go about processing the registration.

“With over a thousand organisations already captured, I am optimistic that at least 10,000 more Cross Riverians will benefit from the scheme, where government is paying N30,000 or N50,000 per employee for a period of 3 months”, Obin explained on his social media handle.

At the Marian Hotel, Calabar, one of the two centres created, hordes of young people with smart phones and laptops were seen gainfully engaged with the prospect of earning between N5000 (five thousand naira) and above, per day, depending too on how many registrations an individual is able to complete. Some youths at the venue spoken to by our reporter on the ground, confirmed to www.calitown.com that their engagement was timely and better designed than “… the many empowerment programmes that our politicians design. Unlike the empowerment of our politicians, I didn’t come here with a recommendation from anybody from my political ward, what got me into this programme is my laptop, data and ability to navigate my laptop keys and help people complete their registration formalities, as simple as that”, one of the engaged youth said.
