Venatius Ikem: Could He Be Suffering From Diminishing Syndrome? Yes!

Posted on October 13, 2021 By Admin No Comments on Venatius Ikem: Could He Be Suffering From Diminishing Syndrome? Yes!

On the heels of the interview with the CRS Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Venatius Ikem, that we published, an All Progressives Congress, APC, stakeholder, has written in to express his Right of Reply.

By Goddie Akpama

Ordinarily, Mr. Venatius Ikem should, by now, be enjoying the rare privilege of being counted among the statesmen of Cross River State. But unfortunately, that isn’t the case, and would never be because he is bereft of the art of earning such status even after being in public space for decades since he ventured into politics in the late 1980s, and won election to become chairman of Obudu Local Government Area while he was still in his 20s.

At a point in his public life, Vena as he is fondly called, served as National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before enlisting in the race to become the governor of Cross River State in 2007. Perhaps, he had reached his zenith politically because having returned to the state he has obviously been experiencing diminishing returns in politics to the extent that he appears overwhelmed by his recent appointment as state chairman of the PDP.

In fact, Vena is so overwhelmed that his entire activity and focus is on the the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Sir Benedict Ayade or what else would have propelled Vena to insult Governor Ayade, describing him in an interview with www.calitown.com as a man who needs “spiritual help” having being propelled by force beyond our realm”?

Certainly, it is the same “forces beyond our realm” that propelled Vena, then a serving Commissioner for Works, to assume the status of a “bouncer” in another man’s house, to attack one Boniface Ishamali with a bottle. The same forces beyond our realm consistently and periodically propel Vena into engaging in brawls and fisticuffs in public like a common street thug, (the PJ Ekunke saga etc ) thus denying him the privilege of being considered a statesman.

Certainly, it is the usually red-eye Vena who has exhibited vicious violent traits that needs spiritual help. Obviously, Vena needs spiritual help to free himself from the forces that propelled him to head the PDP Secretariat because their intent is to use him as their chief thug in 2023 with the hope of regaining power in the state for themselves.

Vena needs spiritual help to understand that those who have made him local champion at the PDP State Secretariat would have kept him at bay by all means, fair or foul, if they had not suddenly found themselves as very weak leaders of an even more weakened opposition in the state and national levels.

Mr. Vena Ikem needs spiritual help to know that those who have set him up as their undertaker for the 2023 general elections do not love him more than Governor Ayade who received and rehabilitated him after he found the forces in APC too hot to handle.

Mr. PDP Chairman also claimed in the interview that Governor Ayade showed signs of failure early in his administration, please what forces propelled Mr. Chairman into running away from the APC to campaign seriously for Ayade to have a second term!!
Certainly, a man who calls somebody a witch or wizard in the morning and in the evening is seen dinning with that person must be suffering from the propeller of negative spiritual forces. It is possible that those forces that propelled Vena to campaign for Governor Ayade’s second term have not left him, hence he should not be taken seriously.

If not that Vena is overwhelmed, and must insult the governor so as to be seen by his masters as doing their biddings, what else could be motivating him other than the fact that the name, Ayade, has been his meal ticket ever since the governor joined partisan politics. It is either Vena gains from Ayade directly or switches camp to pick crumbs from the table of Ayade’s perceived opponents. That has remained the trend with Vena since Ayade became a partisan politician. Therefore Vena Ikem needs spiritual cleaning. Vena should repent from his ungodly path and stop insulting the person and office of the Governor of Cross River State, because by doing so he is insulting the entire people of Cross River State, including those sponsoring him. Mr Chairman, grow up, times are fast changing!! CHANGE!!!
