Owan Enoh Declares For Governor, Insists He Is Best Man For The Job

John Owan Enoh, aspiring to be governor of Cross River State on the platform of the APC in 2023, has insisted that, “looking at the field of those that want to run for governor of CRS in 2023, there is no one that will do this job the way I will do it. There is no one that has the passion, staying power and the commitment to service that I will bring to the job”.

Enoh who spoke while formally declaring his ambition in Ogoja, Cross River North, insisted too that he is “…an aspirant with an instant connection to the hearts of the people. I know that if by the grace of God our APC family endorses me as her candidate and the CR electorate vote for me to become governor, after four years, after eight years, Cross Riverians will not imagine what a governor can do for them”.

On agitations that power should return to the South of CR in 2023, Owan Enoh explained that, “it is politically correct for anybody to have a political ambition and run, from any part of the state. After close to 24 years of unbroken democracy, in 2023, CRS will have politically equalized and every zone in CRS would have had the opportunity to sit in the Government House in Calabar. We must also realize that there are new political realities. In the last bye-election, conducted in four state constituencies; Akpabuyo, Ogoja, Yala I & II, the PDP won in three state constituencies while the APC won in only one. If this doesn’t scare you, I wonder what will. We must as a party look for a candidate who has state wide appeal and can win elections for our party…I am that candidate”, he added.

On whether he has the backing of state governor, Ben Ayade, to run for office, he responded: “I went to see the governor a couple of days ago, we spoke extensively and he told me, John you can go. When you go, tell them you have spoken with me. I will not do this (declare for governor) of I had not spoken to the governor and leader of our party. I stand again after I stood in 2019…I will be unbeatable”.
