Cross Riverian Appointed Professor Of Research Design By Freedom University, USA!

A Cross Riverian and Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ngang Bassey Ngang, has been appointed Professor of Research Design by the Freedom University and Theological Seminary, Pottstown, PA USA.

At the university’s African Campus, Abuja, Nigeria, yesterday, Saturday, June 25th, 2023, where a formal ceremony took place before he was garbed, Ngang, presently the Acting Head of Department, Electrical/Electronic and Computer Engineering, Veritas University, Abuja, was described as having “26 years post graduate experience covering, Oil/Gas, the Power Sector, and the academia. As a Senior lecturer and Head of the Department of Electrical/Electronic and Computer Engineering, he represents the faculty in research and publications at the directorate department. He also takes part in article reviews and project/thesis content reviewing. His Research interests include Vocational Education, Renewable Energy, Power System Stability and Protection.”

Ngang who teaches research methodology and vocational education courses such as Technical/Engineering Drawing, Applied Electricity, Applied Mechanics, Technical Report Writing and Educational Technology as well as methods for Educational Evaluation, has been a senior member of the Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, NIEEE, and a registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN, for over 21 years.

Before he joined the university, his work in NEPA and ExxonMobil, focused on the implementation of better plant maintenance practices for reducing equipment downtime during plant shutdown due to electrical faults/power system surges. He also has demonstrable capacity for troubleshooting faulty electrical machines in the industry using Programmable Logic Controllers, PLC, and has severally received commendation letters based on his work in this direction.

The new Professor has more than 45 publications in international journals, with book chapters and conference papers inclusive. He has a Google Scholar H index of six, and i10 index. (the i10-index: developed by Google Scholar, represents the number of articles published by an author that have received at least 10 citations).

Between 2016 and 2018, he was the Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Eket Branch, Akwa Ibom State, and a Council Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Ngang has been a Senior Lecturer in Freedom University and Theological Seminary, Pottstown, P.A, USA (African Campus) for over five years prior to his joining Veritas University, Abuja.

Freedom University is a USA-based university set up by the Freedom World wide Council of Bishops and Pastors in educational partnership with the University Of Cassino, Italy. The University has campuses across the globe, with the Nigerian African Campus as one of them.
