Popular radio host and comedian, Friday Awade, has cried out after thugs suspected to be acting on the instructions of a former Cross River State Commissioner for Education, mercilessly attacked him and left him with wounds to the head and leg.

Awade, known popularly as Last Prophet, the Otwe-twe Master, in a signed statement currently circulating online, notified the public that, “…if anything happens to me, Dr. Godwin Amanke, the former Cross River State Commissioner for Education should be held responsible.”

“My attackers, led by one Ferdinand a.k.a Spare Tyre, had guns and all manner of offensive weapons. I was thoroughly beaten with injuries to the head and leg. My clothes were torn and it took the mercy of God to survive this attack, unknown to me that these thugs had instructions to attack anyone associated with Hon. Peter Akpanke, seen around Sankwala, Obanliku”, he further states.

“I remain in awe that men of the Nigeria Police on standby, who witnessed this attack, made no attempt to intervene, giving credence to word around that they were instructed by Dr. Amanke to protect the thugs he employed to attack me or any other person, perceived to hold a contrary political position”, he lamented.

Awade also made claims that Amanke, watched the whole attack from his balcony “”making no attempt to call off this attack.”

“To God’s glory, I am alive and duly enjoin appropriate authorities as well as security agencies to take necessary action against this act of cruelty metes on me and make sure Dr Amanke and his thugs face the wrath of the law, let justice prevail.”

At press time, phone calls to Amanke’s number, 08035080517, were not taken. Again, a message to this Whatsapp number, for his own side of the story or a reaction, remained unattended to.
