Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Unical, Florence Banku Obi, has commended three outstanding students of the institution from the Department of Medicine and Surgery, Yolo Bakumor Smith, Chukwubuike Fortune Ifeoma and Joseph Ikechukwu, for being selected to represent their states at the prestigious NEXTGEN Innovation Challenge finale in London.

Obi gave the commendation when the trio paid her a courtesy call in her office recently.

While congratulating them for their achievements, she emphasized the importance of staying focused and purpose-driven as they prepare for the London finale where they will exhibit their projects and pitch to investors.

Obi urged the students to pay attention to the details of their respective innovations to make investors interested in providing finances that will help them make the creation of their apps come true.

She advised them to find more greater opportunities that will take them into the spotlight of successful men and women around the globe, adding that these feats achieved can transform their lives and better put the University in high pedestal.

The students, representing Bayelsa, Ebonyi, and Imo states, had developed apps to enhance the medical profession, earning them national recognition and a spot in the London finale.

According to them, the upcoming event provides a platform for students to exhibit their projects and pitch to investors, while potentially paving the way for future collaborations and funding.
