Inyang

Yibala Inyang, Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Council, Cross River State, has successfully concluded his Christmas/New Year tour as well as stakeholders’ engagement across all council wards in Yakurr LGA.

During the engagement, Inyang distributed a total of ?10 million and bags of rice to constituents, as part of efforts to spread goodwill and support families during the festive season. He also presented special Christmas gifts to Yakurr traditional rulers and communities in appreciation of their leadership and support for peace and development at the grassroots.

Inyang, during one of the interactions.

During the tour, which covered the council wards of Assiga, Inyima, Nkpolo, Abanamkpai, Mkpani, Epenti, Ajere, Ntan, Idomi, Ijiman, Ijom, Ikpakapit, and Biko-Biko, with a separate visit to Agoi Ibami, Inyang interacted directly with community members and critical stakeholders, providing an opportunity for the people to give firsthand feedback on completed projects and areas where government intervention is most needed.

The Chairman explained during the tour that, the essence of the visits was to strengthen grassroots governance through direct consultation, noting that the interactions were enriching and reaffirmed his administration’s people-centered approach. He expressed satisfaction with the level of engagement and appreciation shown by constituents across all wards.

In Mkpani/Agoi Ward, Inyang further assured the people that despite being politically grouped under a council ward, deliberate steps will be taken to ensure Agoi benefits fully as a council ward, in order to enhance government presence and inclusive development in the area.

Inyang also used the exercise to appreciate Cross River State governor, Bassey Otu, for the successes so far recorded at the local government level and sued for stronger support from the communities so that more development at the grassroots will be assured, in the days ahead.

Comprehensive feedback received during the tour, we gathered, has been carefully documented with reassurances to the people of Yakurr that the current council administration will continue to address priority needs within the limits of available resources, in line with Inyang’s pledge to deliver equitable and impactful governance across the local government area.
