The 2026 Aspire Educational Foundation quiz competition for secondary schools in the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State, has produced a winner with Enoghi Secondary School, Ikom, winning top position with 28 points, two points more than Government Technical College, Obubra, who came second with a close 26 points.

Kasi Usani, founder of ASPIRE Educational Foundation, who was present at the event, emphasised the need for the students to be persistent in their acquisition of knowledge and skills and in the pursuit of excellence, not only in their academics but in everything that they do. He asserted that it is only in their consistent exercise of these values, along with the other core values embedded in the acronym ASPIRE, that they can achieve genuine and lasting success in life and hence be able to inspire and support the next generation of young persons. In so doing, they would be helping to build the pyramid of human capital development that is so vital to national development.

Caroline Okongor, who represented the CRS Commissioner for Education, Stephen Odey, commended the foundation for the consistency of their education-driven initiatives and emphasised the need for synergy and broad partnerships to boost the work the foundation is undertaking.

Similarly, the Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Area, represented by the Supervisor for Education, Godwin Eno, commended the drive, zeal and commitment shown by the foundation in pursuit of her objectives. He further implored the foundation to dig in, identify development drivers that she can partner with while expanding conversation with government to see how she can benefit from greater outside support.

The event which held at the Government Secondary School, Ikom, drew participation from secondary schools across the six local government areas that make up the district. First prize winners walked away with a cash prize of N100,000 (one hundred thousand naira), second prize winners, N70,000.(Seventy thousand naira). In addition, the four contesting students of the winning school were automatically enrolled onto the ASPIRE Foundation scholarship scheme. A number of other students who had stood out in the earlier stages of the competition as well as the final were also selected for the ASPIRE scholarship scheme.
