The 8th Assembly of Cross River State House of Assembly has promised to make laws that would aid the improvement of Internally Generated Revenue of the State to enhance a bail out from the current economic woes.

This was made known by the Chairman, Cross River State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Nelson Ofem during a visit to the Ministry of Information Headquarters, Opposite Cultural Centre Complex, Calabar.

Ofem said, the new House seeks to make laws that will transform the State, and bail out laws to help the State out of the current poor financial State. While unfolding the legislative focus of the 8th Assembly, the Yakurr 1 State Constituency representative said that, the current House also intends to organize a Town Hall Meeting in a bid to take law making to the grass root.

According to him, the Town Hall meeting will enable indigenes of the State to make input to laws and see Government as their own business, reiterating that good roads, Provision of water, electricity and other social infrastructure are the benefits of good governance, which the Government will endeavour to provide the people with.
