CR 2015 Elections Update

Posted on March 28, 2015July 7, 2015 By Admin 1 Comment on CR 2015 Elections Update

Copy of NEW LOGO OF CRSWhile voter turnout in today’s Presidential and National Assembly elections has been very high across the length and breadth of Cross River State, www.calitown.com can reveal that after the initial problems encountered with the card reader in various polling units within the state, accreditation and voting went ahead as follows with early trickling results indicating that PDP’s Goodluck Jonathan has a commanding lead in CRS, over APC’s Muhammadu Buhari. But remarkably in parts of the state, the Labour Party has put up a strong showing, suggesting the PDP may not have a clean sweep of positions in the elections.

In CR Central Senatorial District for instance, former Chief of Staff to Gov. Liyel Imoke, Alex Egbona, vying for the Yakurr/Abi Federal Constituency seat, may stage an upset as early results show he is in the lead, while John Owan Enoh of the PDP, hoping to succeed Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba as the senator representing CR Central Senatorial District, is sweating in his slim lead, so far, against LP’s Sandy Onor. Former CR Commissioner for Works, Legor Idagbo, our reporter says will clinch the Obanliku/Bekwarra/Obudu Federal Constituency seat in CR North

Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency in CR’s North looks certain to fall to PDP’s Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe as he presently has a commanding lead over the LP’s Akpang Obi Odu. LP’s Bassey Edet Otu may be returning to the Senate for the CR Southern Senatorial District seat as reports indicate that he is leading Gershom Bassey of the PDP.
