While the Cross River State House of Assembly will on Thursday this week, commence the second reading of the 2016 CRS budget on the floor of the House, so members can argue on the general objectives of the Bill presented by the state governor, Ben Ayade, House Speaker, John Gaul Lebo has further informed www.calitown.com that the House will the next day, Friday, December 4, 2015, play host to a general and introductory stakeholders session with the media, civil society organizations, CRS Executive Council members, permanent secretaries and the organized private sector.

According to Lebo, “the Friday session is the first opportunity for the House to present the budget proposal presented by the governor to the public under our Citizen’s Agenda Policy and Legislative direction”. A road show of the budget to the media, development partners, investors, among others, he also informed, conducted by the Chairman, House Committee of Finance, will take place.

He explained that the whole idea is to get “the public and private sectors, buy into the budget, critically evaluate and contribute to the budget process”. The public hearing will be transmitted live on local broadcast station, CRBC Tv.
