British Council’s “Creative Cities” Comes To Calabar

image001“Creative Cities” a British Council organized event that aims to strengthen the skills and capacity of current and future cultural event managers to sustainably create, market, and raise funds for arts and culture events in the city and in so doing, grow audiences for arts and culture, create employment for the youth and contribute to the creative economy of the state, is billed to hold in Calabar, Cross River State from February 1 to February 5, 2016, www.calitown.com can reveal.

We were also informed that on the 6th of February 2016, talk about careers within the Creative Sector tagged Creative Hustle: Managing Arts and Culture Events, with Alexis Johnson (Learn It Director, Walk the Plank, UK), Liz Pugh (Co-founder and Producer, Walk the Plank, UK) and Michael Williams (Managing Director, Cross River State Tourism Bureau) will be hosted by the Council.

The British High Commissioner in Nigeria, Paul Thomas Arkwright, will attend the closing reception for the Creative Cities project on the 6th of February 2016, as he visits Calabar on the 5th and 6th of February.

Meanwhile 50 Cross Riverians, drawn from across the state have been selected to attend the free training programme holding at the Transcorp Hotels, Calabar. Interested participants can register at https://www.britishcouncil.org.ng/events/creative-hustle-calabar or just show up and register on the day.
