Christian Ita, Chief Press Secretary to Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, has exclusively told www.calitown.com that one Dr. Bishong, peddled in social media circles in the last 24 hours for scamming several persons of huge sums of money under the guise that contracts can be secured from the Ayade government, has been acting alone and has not the nod of the governor.

Ita who was contacted after the Police arrested the scammer maintained that, “this man is not an employee of this administration and His Excellency has nothing to do with him. I have just spoken with Inyang Asibong, the Commissioner of Health and contrary to what has been widely reported, this man has no office in the ministry. Those he has scammed were greedy and no where in the world has His Excellency demanded for cash before contracts can be awarded”.

Police sources informed www.calitown.com that several persons, even government officials were duped by the scammer. One government official is believed to have parted with a princely N900, 000 just like a foreign national lost N4 million in an unending scam that promised government contracts to the highest bidder. While the culprit has been remanded in Afokang Prisons, those who payed him collossal sums of money are licking their wounds. We were unable to ascertain at press time what total sum may have gone down the drain.
