It Is Finished, PDP Shuts Out Agara

Posted on October 3, 2018October 3, 2018 By Admin No Comments on It Is Finished, PDP Shuts Out Agara
Agara

While he appeared to have been touted as the man to beat, www.calitown.com can reveal that PDP senatorial aspirant, Chris Agara, will no longer contest for the position as a complex chain of webs within the party appear to have finally shut him out of the race for the Cross River Central Senatorial District seat in Nigeria’s Senate.

While a former governor of the state has been fingered as not being comfortable with Agara’s candidature, even outrightly rejecting it and working against it behind the scenes, Ben Ayade, CRS governor, friend and political benefactor to Agara, almost lost his bid at the PDP gubernatorial ticket after his body language appeared to favour an Agara candidature.

“Those who thought Agara’s candidature was a done deal, have learnt a new lesson. See, in politics, one second is the difference between a win and a lose. I pity that he has spent a lot of money, but I also think that those of them who only spend money on the people when elections approach, do not deserve leadership positions via the votes we cast. Additionally, elective positions cannot be reserved for our governor’s friends alone; CRS is bigger than all of these people. Let us wish Agara well and we hope he will not go and take back the vehicles he gave all those people”, one PDP stalwart told www.calitown.com

Sources inside the PDP maintained to www.calitown.com that Agara has taken in the bare faced fact that he cannot run for the position, even suggesting too that he may be headed out of the party. But there is at present, a sort of political hustle that has taken centre stage in the last 24 hours. Agara is being seriously courted by those still in the race, hoping he can throw his weight behind their candidature as that will count at today’s senatorial primary in Ikom. We were informed that materials for the exercise arrived late yesterday night and were being transported to Ikom, at press time.
