Former Minister, John Odey, To Be Buried November 7, 2018

Family sources have revealed to www.calitown.com that former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, John Odey, who passed away in a Dubai hospital on October 7, 2018, will be buried on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in Ochubi – Olachor, Okpoma, Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.

A burial programme made available early today indicates that on Thursday, November 2, 2018, there will be a simultaneous Service of Songs in his honour from 6pm at his Abuja residence, 27 Kwame Nkrumah Crescent, Asokoro, Abuja, as well as in his Calabar residence, 1 Harbour Road, Ekorinim II, Calabar.

On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, a Vigil Mass will take place at the Christ the King Catholic Church, Okpoma, Yala LGA, followed by a Wake Keep in his Okpoma country home. His internment on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at 11am, will be preceded by a funeral mass at CKC, Okpoma.

Survived by a wife, two sons and two daughters, Odey, a former Minister of Environment and also a one time Minister of Information and Communication, has been described as a thorough bred gentleman who will be missed by Cross River State in particular and the nation at large.
