“Food On The Table” Politics Has Ended, Ayade Declares!

We can authoritatively reveal that the contentious “Food On The Table” policy of the Ben Ayade administration in his first four years in office, has come to an inglorious end with the governor himself, insisting earlier today, at the official opening of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, secretariat in Calabar, that the highlight of his second term in office will be the introduction of the “hands on the plough” policy.

Political sources maintained to www.calitown.com that because it has become clear to the governor that the “Food On The Table” policy drew a lot of flak to him and “exposed him to mockery”, like one source said, the measured productivity of this policy has clearly shown that it cannot grow the state.

As a follow up to his declaration today, a new policy, where “every appointee will show proficiency”, was birthed, becoming a source of worry for several former appointees who demonstrated mostly no capacity and redundance while they were paid salaries, month in, month out.

However, reports are claiming that most of Ayade’s next set of appointees, may be those recommended to him and trusted by CAN. A remainder of the appointees will be those with demonstrable capacity to contribute their quota to the development of the state. “I do not know to what extent the governor’s declaration will fly; we have heard several declarations before, can we just sit back and wait for this outcome”, one outgone appointee of the governor, who has elected to remain anonymous, disclosed.

The policy saw the governor appoint and pay more than 3000 appointees, with a larger percentage of these appointees performing no visible functions.

Ayade is set to be sworn in for a second term of four years, this Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
