Abubakar Ewa, Late C’River Commissioner To Be Buried March 1, 2025

The Cross River State Government has announced the burial obsequies of Abubakar Robert Ewa, the late Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture who shockingly passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, shortly after attending the first meeting of the Cross River State Executive Council for 2025.

A release signed by Erasmus Ekpang, Commissioner for Information, CRS, says opening of the mourning house will take place at his Asari Eso residence, Calabar at 10:00 a.m, on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Tuesday, February 25, 2025, condolence visits by individuals, friends, and groups tohis Asari Eso residence, Calabar, will commence from 9:00 a.m.

A valedictory State Executive Council Meeting in his honour will hold at the temporary State Executive Council, Council of Chiefs Chambers, Calabar, from 11 a.m on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025, night of tributes in his honor will hold at Hoggis Royale, State Housing Estate, Calabar, from 5:00 p.m.

On Friday, February 28, 2025, 8:00 a.m, body departs Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital Mortuary for a farewell mass at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Marian Hill by Mary Slessor Ave, Calabar, before his remains his remains proceed in a motorcade to his village, Wula, Eastern Boki, Boki Local Government Area for vigil.

Funeral service is on Saturday, March 1 2025 at 10:00 a.m, followed by interment. The deceased, known popularly as the “Paramount ruler of Boki politics”, was 61 years old at the time of his death.
