Anti-Ayade Protesters Storm PDP National Secretariat

Posted on July 20, 2018July 20, 2018 By Admin 1 Comment on Anti-Ayade Protesters Storm PDP National Secretariat
The protesters reading their address.

Protesters carrying anti-Ayade placards today took over the main entrance to Wadata House, headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abuja, not too long ago, with a demand that is rocking political waters in CRS..

The protesters demanded that the Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, must go and that the party should not contemplate giving him a second term ticket unless the PDP wants to lose the State.

In a petition addressed to the National Chairman of PDP, the protesters under the name, Forever Cross River led by John Offiong and Basset Ekpo Bassey, claimed that Cross River State under Ayade has not measured up to what it was under the past administrations of Donald Duke and Liyel Imoke.

They referred to the stealing of meagre state resources through ¡®high sounding, yet incomplete and dubiously misconceived projects such as the Super Highway, which has led to deforestation of the state by the governor’s brother, the Deep Sea port project, new City of Callas Vegas, Cally Air Airline, Rice city, to mention a few.

Alarm was also raised over the increasing insecurity in the state which has reached an alarming rate, they stated. The group called on the party to ensure that Ayade does not emerge as the party¡¯s candidate in the next election if they want to win the State.

Party officials who received the protesters promised to transmit their demands to the party’s national executive.

Bassey Ekpo Bassey, convener, Forever Cross River, the non partisan, non conformist group, told www.calitown.com on the line from Abuja that, “we aim to unseat Ayade given his total lack of regard for good leadership, lack of vision and terrible handling of the economy, steering the state to the precipice and total destruction.”

I.That senator prof Ben Ayade deserve a second Term like every other Governor of cross river state in the past.
2.That senator Ayade has a good score card in his three years as a Governor and have our support as cross riverians.
3.That Ayade must do his second term considering his laudable projects i.Garment factory, cocoa factory at ikom. 4.The ongoing Calabar deep sea Port and super highway.
5.The engagement of over 3000 cross riverians in state government appointment.it is one of it’s kind in the history of cross river state.
6.Governor Ayade is the one and only Governor in the whole federation that is not owing salaries rather he pay salies ahead of time.
After a careful evaluation of Governor Ayade’s achievements.we reject in totality the position of the hired Abuja paid boys to wadada house .
We also want to bring to your notice that we know your pay master and we will not allow anyone destroy our Governor.
Finally,we will not allow the interest of any individual paint a wrong image of our leader.
