“Ayade Is Entitled To A Second Term” – CR PDP Chair

Posted on September 27, 2017 By Admin No Comments on “Ayade Is Entitled To A Second Term” – CR PDP Chair
Edim Inok Edim, CR PDP Chair

Cross River State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Edim Inok Edim says CRS governor, Ben Ayade, based on the political agreement within the party (that each senatorial district has eight years on the governorship saddle) is entitled to a second term in office and that Ayade’s subordinates will work hard to ensure that victory for the party and Ayade is secured in 2019.

Edim who spoke exclusively with www.calitown.com further revealed that “with the massive investment in agriculture that Gov. Ayade has embarked upon, we will in no distant time reap the benefits of this investment, especially now that we are in a recession. This investment will also help us tackle the high level of unemployment in the state … you can therefore see that the governor is focused and has not invested in white elephant projects, but has gone with investments in rice, cocoa and others. We will do well to let him tidy up what he has started with a second term”.

On the internal crisis within the PDP as a whole, he maintained that “one day the matter will be settled. In Cross River State for instance, we (PDP) just finished our local government tour and the support we got in the LGAs as tremendous; it is a sign of acceptance and we will build on this support and deliver due dividends to our people”. He was however bitter with some elected representatives of the PDP “make sure their people have no access to them, they come to the state but they don’t go to their constituents. It is very unfair and I hope that when this singular act counts against them and the people refuse to vote for them, it will not be a bitter lesson.”

For the local government elections in the state, Edim said “… we were ready for the elections, some months ago but APC went to court and we have instructed our lawyer, Mba Ukweni, to act on the matter and as soon as the court process is exhausted, elections will hold. He finally singled out Jarigbe Agom Jarige, Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Legor Idagbo, Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency and Daniel Asuquo, Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency, as three persons who have benevolently lent much needed financial support to the party for the administrative running of the party’s state secretariat.
