“Boki Women Remain Pacesetters” – Edward Ogon

On the heels of a recent sensitization visit to Boki Local Government Area by the Boki women group, Banyinyi Boki Forum, a prominent Boki son, Edward Ogon, has disclosed that Boki women have constantly remained pacesetters in driving change among communities in Boki Local Government Area.

Ogon who made this disclosure in a letter of appreciation to the group, said the recent visit by the group “to Boki in reaction to the incessant violence among our youths/communal intolerance is highly commendable. Your plaintive cry has been heard by Boki people and I pray that God will take control.”

He pointed out that, “Boki Nation cannot be the same again. Our change must come. Change to promote peace not discord. Change for meaningful dialogue not hostility, for communal interest over personal and sectional aggrandizement. Change for politics of ethics not that of disenfranchisement and malice”, believing that any society that neglects peace, does not develop.

While he believes the time to act is now, Ogon who is aspiring for the Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency seat, added in his letter sighted by www.calitown.com that through this selfless act, a chronicle of the history of the development of communities in Boki and the outstanding efforts played by individuals and groups cannot be complete for OCHIBE BOKI, if the women are not included. “My prayers and appreciation will always be with BANYINYI BOKI. Please be assured of my unwavering support in all your endeavours, God bless us all” he concluded.

In the course of this past week, the Banyinyi Boki Forum, undertook a massive sensitization programme that drew attention to the ills plaguing the Boki Nation and begged several indigenes of the area to turn away from their wicked ways.
