Senator representing the Southern Senatorial District, Cross River State, Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr., says he remains committed to working with his leader and state governor, Bassey Edet Otu, “for a stronger and more prosperous Cross River South Senatorial District.”
Asuquo disclosed this, in what many observers have described as a powerful declaration of unity, continuity, and unyielding dedication to the collective advancement of the region.
Speaking on the heels of his successful screening by the Cross River Southern Senatorial District Leadership Forum, ahead of the forthcoming party primaries on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ekpenyong described the development as “an important step in the journey toward providing effective and people-centred representation,” adding that the endorsement further deepens his commitment to service, consultation, and inclusive leadership.
He said he will engage with stakeholders with a view to building consensus, and advancing policies that will drive sustainable development across communities, reaffirming his resolve to continue delivering purposeful and people-centred representation for the district.
He emphasized that “meaningful representation must be built on broad engagement, mutual trust, and deliberate consensus-building among critical stakeholders,” noting that “sustainable growth can only emerge where leadership remains attentive to the aspirations, challenges, and hopes of the people.”
According to him, the task ahead is one of collective resolve, strategic partnership, and a shared vision for greater prosperity.
Ekpenyong’s remarks have resonated strongly across the political landscape of Cross River South, reinforcing confidence in his leadership and projecting a message anchored on development, loyalty, and unity of purpose. His statement not only reflects political readiness for the road ahead but also a renewed pledge to work tirelessly for the continued progress and prosperity of the Southern Senatorial District.
