Posted on April 2, 2019 By Admin No Comments on BREAKING: Fire Burns Down Nigerian Navy Sec School Hostel
Students and worried parents waiting to be briefed at the school premises

Fire has devastatingly consumed Blue House hostel in the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Akpabuyo, forcing authorities of the institution to hurriedly shut down the school as a precautionary measure, www.calitown.com can reveal.

Our reporter who rushed to the school, situated on the outskirts of Calabar, the Cross River State capital, called in to say that the fire whose cause is electrical, consumed all the belongings of the students in the hostel. “The fire started while all the students were in class and by the time they discovered that there was a fire, nothing could be done as it would have been fatal trying to go into the hostel to rescue their belongings”, our reporter wrote in to say. Stern looking naval personal prevented our reporter from taking pictures of the burning hostel.

“This particular junction box has over sometime now showed signs that were ignored and now that the fire from there has razed down our hostel and we lost all our belongings, our school will take things like this seriously”, an anonymous student told our reporter.

Several panicky parents arrived the school in droves to inquire about and pick up their wards as authorities of the school informed them. At press time, authorities of the institution were yet to release students to their parents. Apart from the JSS 3 and SS 3 students, we gathered in the school that all other students will be sent home, ahead of the fixed closing date.

“My child lost everything. The only thing he has left is the uniform that he is wearing. You can imagine that we are going to have to completely buy everything again. But I am grateful to God that no life was lost, that would have been terrible”, one parent told www.calitown.com.
